The California Science Center presents Wildlife in Focus, a beautiful photographic exhibit featuring 12 portraits of some of the animals who have called the California Science Center their home. Captured by photographer Joel Sartore for his Photo Ark project, dedicated to documenting every animal species before they disappear. Wildlife in Focus opens November 16, 2024.

Explore the engineering marvels and artistry of one of history’s greatest minds and inventors when “LEONARDO DA VINCI: Inventor. Artist. Dreamer.” opens at the California Science Center on March 2, 2024. Through models of da Vinci’s innovations, hands-on experiences and reproductions of his notes and artwork, including the Last Supper, visitors will experience da Vinci’s endless curiosity, and his use of both art and science throughout his work.

The California Science Center reached a major milestone in construction of the future Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center today with a ceremonial topping out celebration. Some of the final beams were hoisted into position in the complex diagrid atop the 200,000-square-foot Science Center expansion. Made up of a framework of diagonally intersecting beams, the Air and Space Center’s diagrid is self-supporting, eliminating the need for columns and allowing for a dramatic, unobstructed future view of space shuttle Endeavour in the building’s 20-story Samuel Oschin Shuttle Gallery.

Air travelers looking for a unique immersive experience can now find that at California’s most popular airport through a partnership with the California Science Center and Ontario International Airport (ONT).

The Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center Work in Progress gallery, a dynamic exhibition that offers a sneak peek at new artifacts planned for the new Air and Space Center while reliving past milestones of Space Shuttle Endeavour’s historic arrival and dramatic stacking process, is now open at the California Science Center. Guests will have the opportunity to explore select new space artifacts, view construction progress through time-lapse imagery, and learn more about the future Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center.
