The placement of the Solid Rocket Booster Aft Skirts on July 20, 2023, will serve as the  foundation of the vertical shuttle stack.

The shuttle stacking process, which will take approximately six months, will begin with  the Aft Skirts installation on July 20, 2023 and will be marked by seven important  milestones:

On November 7, 2023 the California Science Center will continue Go for Stack with the lifting  and mating of two large Solid Rocket Motors (SRMs).

Dennis R. Jenkins worked as a contractor to NASA for 33 years, mostly on the Space Shuttle Program in a variety of engineering and management roles.

As the centerpiece of the long-envisioned third phase (Phase III) of the California Science Center’s three-decade Master Plan, ZGF architects were commissioned to design a 200,000 square foot expansion to the Science Center, creating a permanent home for space shuttle Endeavour and a diverse collection of aircraft and spacecraft, immersive experiences and the Science Center’s signature hands-on, educational exhibits that encourage active learning through discovery.

Extreme areas, like deserts, poles, deep sea vents, and rocky shores, are good places to explore the process of adaptation.
